On July 31, 1986, I thought I was minding my own business.

After work that day, The bosses and myself organized a keg party for our crews. At the party, my bike was my sole transportation. When it started raining I asked a friend, so I thought, to allow me to put my wallet in his glove box. The party went on and later that evening, when he returned my wallet, he was without it.

I asked where my wallet was because it was payday, and I had organized a Deep Sea Fishing Trip for my work force, and everyone who was planning to partake gave me a $20.00 deposit. One thing lead to another and I never received my wallet. At the time, in my wallet was approximately $1000.00.

Shortly after, my so called friend, left the apartment complex where I lived. I went beside the road to flag him down but, he crossed the white line and he ran me down. I flew some 65 feet, had a compound skull fracture, a broken tibula and fibula, a broken thumb and numerous lacerations all over my body. I was comatose for three and one half days, and totally paralyzed on my right side. Since then I have acquired some use of my right side but typing one handed is a bugger.

I learned an awful lot about life that day. It seems you cannot trust some people whom you think are your friends so a little word of caution:

Take control of your life and watch who you call your friends. I do not hate this person.

This all happened in South Carolina and I'm a Yankee from Pa. They are still fighting a war in the south and will still never win it. I would like to run into this man one day.

then again, maybe not................? DuckMan
