NL East Beat

The NL East has many players on the brink of being major superstars,
starting with the Washington Senators. Amaury Telemaco had a mediocre year
last year in a pitching favored era. His ratings would tell you that he
should be a #4 starter or maybe even in the bullpen. Scouts have said that he
has a great arm and enough control over his pitching to keep him in the
rotation, and if he can bring his endurance up a little more he will pitch enough
innings to be a Quality pitcher in the Empire League. I think in a year or so
he will lead the Senators to a decent playoff run a maybe even a title. Being
the successor to Randy Johnson is pretty hard. With a 1,2 punch of Johnson
and Telemaco, Washington does have a shot at Pittsburgh. Telemaco's 2000
prediction: 14-9 2.80 ERA .

Pittsburgh Steal has a great team now and quality production for the
future, with Ryan Christenson leading the team's future. He is a good all around
player that will take over Bichette or Bonds' spot in a few years. He has
enough potential to hit 30 HR's with a batting average of .295. A five
tool player, I think that he will be the next Larry Walker. 2000 Prediction:
4 HR's .335 BA 15 RBI in 175 AB.
