Aol provides a free instant messenger program and is very easy
to use and you DO NOT need to be subscribed to aol to use the program.
Just go to http://www.aim.com/index.adp?promo=208886&aolperm=h
and to the right you will see a big red circle and
"New Users click here for all new 8.1 version Free"
Click and download the program. Once you have it downloaded,
and running you should first enter "Buddy" screen names. For instance
you can find me on by the buddy screen name dayfamilies
To enter buddy names, click on "Setup" and then "Add a Buddy"
there will be a box with writing in it and just back space to remove
their information and type in a buddy name. Keep adding for as many buddy's you have.
Once you are up and running, I would suggest going to MY AIM,
OPTIONS, and PREFERENCES and hightlight each category on the
right and then select the appropriate info on the left, click
apply after each selection. There is one important one, being
the Privacy selection. You can choose to let no one find your
personal info and I also select only allow people on my buddy
list to contact me.
I am more than happy to walk you through each step once you have
it up and running.
