Tuesday nights, 6-8:30 all thru July and August are full band rehearsals. We practice marching for about half an hour, then go in with the band. We listen to announcements, play a few songs and warmups, then go outside as a section to warm up. At about 7:30 or so, we join the band to play through the songs, listen to announcement recaps, then we go home!

Wednesday

Wednesday mornings from 9-12 are drumline-only practices. Here we warm up for half an hour or so, then play through the songs as a line. 10-11:30 are sectionals, where we clean the parts and work on memorizing the music. Then for the last half hour, we rehearse as a line again.

Band Camp Band camp is held the first full week of August. This year it again starts on Monday. The drumline will have one last "crash" practice 9-12 Monday, then go to Pizza Hut for lunch courtesy of Mr. Gotwald. Then the whole band will arrive at the middle school about 2, and practice till 9 or 10. Tuesday and Thursday, camp is 8am-9pm. Wednesday is 8am-6pm, with a pool party/cook out at the public pool. Friday is 8am-5pm, with a rough show performed for the band parents to show off our work over the week. Traditionally, band camp week has a way of somehow being the hottest week of summer... or maybe it just seems that way.
