Oh God please hold down the moon
With the darkness come the fiends
Oh God please let morning arrive soon
Nothing to do but think of what used to be

Lying horizontally caked with sweat
My body twist back and forth for I cannot forget
Memories of you dance within my head
I receive no sleep in the bounds of my bed
This hopeless time comes with the night
Thinking of the past I clutch my pillow tight
During the day I can occupy my time
Thoughts of you never reach my mind
But night is when the demons come to play
As though they are scared of the dangers of day
As vampires they wait till dark to attack
Cloaked in a safe, secure blanket of black

Oh God please hold down the moon
With the darkness come the fiends
Oh God please let morning arrive soon
Nothing to do but think of what used to be
