Please, I need my beauty sleep.

I love having a bath!

Good-morning kisses with Amy.

All the toys belong to me.

Look at all my pretty spots.

Stretch!

Lounging around in my tree house.

Sometimes I like to goof around.

The boys won't find me in this drawer.

Would you like to know more about my breed?

The Egyptian Mau

Mau's are one of the best breeds for many reasons not only because of our unique appearance, but we have a delightful personality.

Appearance

Mau's are very exotic looking with our cheetah-like spots and our tiger-banded legs and tail. We come in three shades: silver (that's me), bronze and smoke. Our coat is ticked like the Aby. For example, my base coat is white with bands of black ticking, which produces the silver effect and the random spots. We are the only naturally spotted breed of cat.

Our large mascara-lined eyes turn to a brilliant gooseberry green once we mature. Mine tend to turn golden when the flash of the camera goes off. Our head is a round wedge with medium to large ears. We tend to have a worried expression on our faces that makes us look so sweet.

Mau's have a medium-long body that has well-developed muscles. There is a loose skin flap extending from our abdomen to our back legs. This gives us the ability to run faster than all other domestic breeds of cat. Our legs are fine-boned with dainty little feet for dancing.

Personality

Egyptians have delightful personalities. We are known to dance by treading our feet and wiggling our tails with great delight. We are very protective of our toys (actually we think everything is a toy) and we love to play fetch. We are not afraid of water and sometimes you will find us in the sink or bathtub. We are fiercely loyal to our servants and love their company.
