When I Went Blind.

I remember when I went blind, the world became a better place
Because I could no longer make judgments about people based on their face
I had to get to know the person and see what they were really like
Before I could find anything about them that I may dislike
And I found by actually speaking to people that I had things in common with all of them
Which I may have never found had I just judged by appearance
I began to learn so much from all the people that I was speaking to
And, along with my happiness, I watched as my brain smartly grew
But then I got my eye-sight back as if by some sudden miracle
I saw the world first-hand again and soon became overly cynical
Until my memory spoke to me in a dream and made me realise
That life was so much better when I was blind, so when I awoke I removed my eyes
