Segregating Humanity.

Patriotism is so confused
When it is stripped of colour
It gives license for all human beings
To be terrible to each other
Because it segregates and splits us up
Into various categories
That apparently represent who we are
And thus highlight the difference in personalities
But if we'd focus on what makes us similar
And the fact that we're all basically the same
Maybe an understanding could be achieved
Maybe we could make a change
As long as we're patriotic to just our countries
And not to the entire human race
We'll only continue to highlight differences
And our priorities will remain misplaced
