Running Away.

Running further away from the problems that plague my mind
Thoughts of hatred toward every man of our kind
And depression because I’m destined to live with them forever
So I run to escape my thoughts and go to wherever

Away is where we want to be
The best place is always where we aren’t
Running to find some sort of smile
Though all I’ve found is that I can’t

When all you can focus on is your next step and breathing
It’s easier to shut off and stop receiving
Away is Tibet is the bush is the beach
Away is a place that you dream but can’t reach

Away is where we want to be
The best place is always where we aren’t
Running to find some sort of smile
Though all I’ve found is that I can’t

When you stop running and are left gasping for air
You suddenly realise you’re you don’t know where
And all bad thoughts rush back to own
Before you turn around and start to walk home
