Long After.

I’ve been smoking way too much
To forget your gentle touch
Emptying bottles I do clutch
To somehow try and match the rush

Long after you forget me
My heart will still be empty

I’ve been poisoning my mind
Only way I can unwind
Trying to make myself blind
Anything to pass the time

Long after you forget me
Here I’ll be, alone and empty

Since you left me I’ve been dead
Chemicals inside my head
Loneliness covers the bed
All alone, can not forget

You say it’ll stop hurting
I ask when
I’ll never know joy like that
Again

Long after you forget me
I’ll still be alone and empty
