Disappearing Act.

We come from such different places
Marred by others warm embraces
Reality skewed to suit
Television show being watched on mute
Tears of disaffection
Recall the rider’s recollection

Riding away into the sun again
The radiant glow hides the end

She made her life a vacuum
Sucking breath out of flowers in bloom
My birthplace, she came to visit
Face formed a smile that she’d call exquisite
Refused to take me to her home
Denial’s a drug best taken alone

Riding away into the dark again
Disappearing act to make amends

She’s a magician
She’ll make your feelings disappear
