A girl asked me one day if I’d care to be hers
I saw that girl one day with some faceless guy
Next night I sat down and wrote to explain
Sign my guestbook and win a free pass.
Her voice sounded nervous and her words rehearsed
I quickly dismissed her, for which she looked unprepared
The reason for this was because I was scared
Looking as happy as she may have with I
Disappeared behind a crowd and silently stared
At what I missed out on because I was scared
To ask for another chance to end my pain
Then I burnt the poem, the evidence I cared
Because, of rejection, I’m eternally scared
