I care about the world until I'm drunk
At which point my morals evaporate
And life becomes so bearable
That for a second I can relate
To those that smile in the street
And those that laugh at TV shows
To those that have no interest in me
Or helping a community grow
I can see as simply as they do
Colours, when blurred, cease to exist
And my eyes are stolen by black and white
I see the treasures I have missed
Like latest fashions, smells and stars
And the evils of the Middle East
The importance of owning a house and a car
I see what truly makes one feel at peace
So I drink all the time to make this feeling stay
This calm that I sense in the air
The world is too hard to explain
So I opt to just not care
