Mike Warner is DJ Wona. A life-long interest in music began with playing drums at the age of ten. He was a trumpet player in his jr. high jazz band, he was also a member of his high school marching band and a drummer in a small rock group. Introduced to the S.F. house music scene in 1991, he attended parties such as a Rave Called Sharon, The Gathering, Basics, FunkyTechnoTribe, Wicked, Come Unity and, of course, the legendary Full Moon Parties. He began collecting and playing house records in 1995. His dj career, which seems to be growing, includes a few small parties in San Fransisco, San Jose and Long Beach. He recently started booking more gigs in and around the bay area, which has helped insipire him to further progress his talent as a dj. His non-house musical favorites include Howlin Wolf, Jimi Hendrix, James Brown, Public Enemy, The Grateful Dead, the Faction, Kruder & Dorfmeister and Jane's Addiction. A man of few words whose style is akin to his favorite DJ's Garth, Jeno, Markie, Thomas, Spun, Buck and Marty to name a few.
