Introduction
Whitehaven Squash club was established in the boom years for the
sport, soon after the opening of the town’s Sports Centre in 1976.
Since then it has run teams in Cumbria’s county leagues, providing
players with the opportunity to progress from recreational to
competitive squash.
Currently there are around 25 adult members, with a similar number
in the club’s thriving junior section.
In the 2003/2004 season, the club ran 3 men's teams and one ladies
team. The men's A team played in the premier division of Cumbria’s
squash leagues, with the B team in division 1 and the C team in
division 2. The ladies team played in division 1 of their section.
The club is dedicated to increasing membership at all levels.
Potential new members should call the reception desk (01946 695666)
at Whitehaven Sports Centre or Click Contact me, and a club official
will make direct contact.
