Somewhere
along the line, somebody though it'd be a good idea to race
all the BRAVO model of Yamaha snowmobiles in town. The idea stuck so every
year Whale Cove hosts the much beloved "Bravo Races."

Polar
Bears are one of several local species that can be either watched or hunted.
Inuit still live fairly traditional lifestyles in which they eat or use the bulk
of what they kill be it bear, bird, wolf, hare, whale, fish, seal, walrus,
caribou, or some other creature. There really aren't any local yahoos getting
off on shooting their big guns; instead, they come up from the States.
This is still Canada, after all, so one of the most popular pastimes is of
course...

The Sic Sic is a ground squirrel you can see running around all over during the
warmer months.


The parkas and snow pants, among many other articles of clothing worn by people
in this town are predominantly handmade. They can be done in a few
hours by pros, and are incredibly warm.
