The Tradition of Replica Boats

The building of replica ships from the Viking era began with "the Viking", a full-scale and quite authentic copy of Gokstad, which in 1893 sailed from Bergen to Newfoundland in 28 days.

Many other replica vessels have been built since then, including a few in Australia, but the details and current whereabouts of the majority of them are currently unknown to us. The Australian Viking Ship Museum would therefore be grateful for any further information that readers may be able to supply.
