~ UNDER CONSTRUCTION ~ INTRODUCTION

This web site is dedicated to all allied veterans from all conflicts

This is the personal web page of Ray Bedford, otherwise known as 'adlersone' to my global clientele.   I am also known by the nickname of 'Rayzor' which was given to me by a former investigations student who had the view that I was very 'sharp' in my teaching practices and methodologies.   The name has remained with me ever since.

The purpose of this introduction page is to provide a snapshot of who I am and a brief overview of the services that I am able to offer to those that visit my page.

I served in the Australian Regular Army for a period of six years between the tumultious years of 1972 and 1978.  Early in my service career I qualified as a military parachutist as well as a number of other skills and before I could count the years I had travelled to most parts of Australia and on ocasions went beyond our shores.  I took my discharge in 1978 to begin a new career in law enforcement joining the Australian Federal Police.

During my career with the Australian Federal Police and resulting from my past military service I was offered an opportunity to enter the Australian Army Cadet Corps as an officer.   I did so and was offered appointment as a Lieutenant undertaking the role of a Unit Training Officer at a large private school Cadet Unit with an adult staff of three officers, three senior non commissioned officers and a cadet company of 120 cadets of all ranks, with defence support provided by an Army Reserve unit.   I later promoted to the rank of Captain and appointed to the position of Officer Commanding this unit.

A career in law enforcement is often a mix of highs and lows and my police service was no exception. I served in the Australian Capital Territory and in Queensland.

After a long and distinguished career I took early retirement after serving Australia and its people for twenty-one years as a senior police officer, three years as an Officer of Cadets and six years as a professional soldier.

After I departed the AFP I continued my interest in teaching, gained further qualifications and began consulting in law enforcement and personal development programmes with a focus on leadership and team building.   During the past few years I have held senior academic posts in two Registered Training Organisations and now operate a private consulting practice in which I contract out my services.

I have a number of hobbies, with my primary interest being the design and development of graphic design primarily focused on military insignia and military themes.

COMMEMORATION CERTIFICATES

For the past six years or so I have been designing certificates with a military theme for military associations, individuals and for events.   One of my continuing clients is the Red Beret International Australian Paratroop Association Inc (RBIA), now very much a global association of serving and former paratroopers and one that I am a proud member of.   I designed their membership certificate and produce it for the association as one means of contributing to the airborne brotherhood.   I also design and produce other certificates for the association as the need arises.

I have received commissions to design and produce certificates for other military related associations, educational institutions, individuals and events resulting in my certificates being displayed throughout the world.

I have now made my services available to all members of the Association as well as to other organisations and individuals who possess the requisite service and or qualifications.   My expanding client base includes members of the law enforcement profession from numerous agencies and countries, members of United Nations peacekeeping missions, members of the Defence Forces from numerous countries and of course the RBIA.

I take personal pride in all of my work but I have to say that I am particularly proud of my Honour Scrolls, which I produce on behalf of veterans of all conflicts from World War II onwards, including all of the United Nations Peacekeeping missions.

In almost all cases I am able to include corps and unit badges, insignia, ribands (matched colours) and if known, the corps and unit motto's on the scrolls and certificates.

All of my work is produced on quality art stock suitable for framing and laminating and includes the name of the veteran and the particular campaign / engagement that the veteran served in.   Other details such as rank and service number can be included at no additional cost.

My certificates are put through a thorough quality control process to ensure that my clients will be completely happy with the final work.   Each certificate comes with a guarantee of quality and satisfaction.

Although Governments show their appreciation to veterans with the awarding of campaign and service medals, honour scrolls or specific certificates of commemoration are generally not issued.   I believe that my certificates go some way in filling this void.   My commemoration certificates provide another form of recognition, which provides an opportunity for those that served and for relatives and friends of those that served a tangible and very visual form of recognition for all to view.

Unlike some companies and individuals that provide similar services on the world wide web I will not accept a commission to design and prepare a certificate unless satisfactory proof has been provided as to the applicant's entitlement.

In respect to Orders, Decorations, Campaign Medals, Skill Qualification and Service Certificates, applicants are requested to provide full details in respect to the award / service / skill / qualification.   Photocopied documentary evidence that the award / qualification was awarded to the recipient and that the recipient served his / her country in the capacity indicated must accompany the order.   This can be in the form of service discharge documents; Government Gazette notices or medal entitlement documents.   In the case of skill qualification badges ie parachute wings, a copy of the appropriate entry in the soldiers AB83, or similar documentation depending on which service you were with is suitable.   In the case of medals (with the exception of WWI, WWII campaign medals or Defence Long Service Medals) awarded by the Australian Government I am able to verify the award through the Australian Honours research facility which includes all medals awarded by the Australian Government, so for those awards it is not necessary to provide documentation, all that is needed is the full name and the name of the award.   The photocopied documents will be retained on the client file and treated as confidential.

Unfortunately without satisfactory evidence of entitlement I will not be able to produce service / award / skill / qualification certificates for an applicant.

I provide the following services:

Commemoration Certificates;
Honour Scrolls;
Award Certificates;
Service Certificates;
Certificates of Appreciation;
Certificates of Attendance;
Membership Certificates;
Skill Qualification Certificates; and
Regimental Honour Scrolls.

Unlike some companies my certificates are not mass-produced where all that is required is the application of the person's name.   Each certificate is individually designed and prepared in accordance with the instructions of the client.   I will however provide advice where appropriate in respect to content, style and layout.
