Dear Mr Elvins

I am writing to apply for the casual sales assistant position you advertised on the Monash University MONSEACS website from the 28th February. I am very interested in this position as I believe I would enjoy working at Sportsbody Swim and think I have the necessary skills that would make me a successful and valuable employee.

I have some previous experience in a retail environment, having worked as a Customer Service Assistant at Target for 2 years. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Target, during which I worked closely with the customers and other employees and acquired various retail and customer service skills. My duties at Target included working in ladieswear, ladies underwear and ladies swimwear and accessories. I believe these skills would benefit me in a sales position at Sportsbody Swim. Please find enclosed a copy of my resume which gives further details of the duties I performed at Target as well as my other past work experience. It also lists the names and phone numbers of people who know me well and are prepared to act as referees.

I have a vibrant and friendly personality and I am trust worthy, polite, reliable and a fast learner. I am prepared to work hard and undergo any training necessary for the position.

Also, as I am currently studying second year Arts/Law at Monash University I can be very flexible with the hours I am able to work.
