This is a tribute for help for the many men and women that suffer from many different levels of pain in our prison system. Every day these inmates suffer from the same pain knowing that chances for medical treatment are slim to none. Some of these men and women suffer from what seem like small things to us such as the need for a pair of shoes that may help from past injuries. Others may be in very critical condition with no one to turn to. This is not a joke to the friends and family of their love ones that suffer every day from this cruel torture. I lost a loved one, (my mother) when I was fourteen years old. It was hard enough to see her pass away even after all the years of treatment that she was able to get out in the free world. It makes me mad to see that these men and women have to beg and plea for someone to even notice that they are in need of help. I do not understand how this world can be so cruel nor may I ever, but I have found the courage and will to help some of these people. I may not be able to help all of them, but if I can help just a few I can live my life with ease. All of these inmates are humans just like you and I. They deserve a fighting chance when it comes to their health or life.
I have now found a wonderful group that does what I have always wanted to do now for so long... help others. This program is called the Jeff Dicks Medical Coalition. There are people who help others in many different ways, but who helps our people in need of help behind the walls of what many call their home. It is hard enough to deal with my emotions involving some of these cases, but if we don't fight for them who will? This will be a never ending battle, but with the more people that help the easier it will be to be able to help a large portion of the ones that have been forgotten.
