Who are these guys?

So here you are. Some hairy guy asked you to take a look at his band's website and you decided to divert your attention from the online porn to Prestres. Thank you.

Well all of your questions are going to be answered.

PRESTRES: The Biography

Located in the hidden ghettos of the Northshore. . . Yeah, you are right. The Northshore doesn't have a ghetto. These three guys met up in the spring of 2002 in Mandeville. Thirty minutes north of New Orleans, Louisiana. The long haired guy is goes by Justin Whited. Although he has several nicknames: The mailman, Jebus, Chief Nipple Hair and don't forget the new one: PORKCHOP. We aren't sure where the last one came from but it's fitting. Really.

Justin began playing bass "a long time ago." (Apparently before there were calanders because he can't recall the year.)His musical influences stem from a wide genre of music. However, for Prestres he tends to pull from such bands as Black Flag, Eyehategod, Pantera and SOD.

Justin moved to Mandeville in 1995 and quickly made friends with Billy Blanke (psst-- he's the drummer! I know you knew that.) Billy is originally from Metarie, Louisiana but he sounds Texan. Sometimes we hold that against him. Billy began playing drums in junior high. He was also in band in high school. So he plays the wood block really well. Despite the picture in your head of him in a band uniform; he didn't listen to Hanson or Ace of Base. He draws his love for the skins from his favorite drummers: Craig Nunamaker of Crowbar, Joey Lacaz of Eyehategod, Joe Fazzio of Super Joint Ritual and Stressball, Dave Lambardo of Slayer, Charlie Bonante of Anthrax and Jimmy Bower of Down. (Jimmy might have paid him to say that though.) The list goes on. Really. I asked him to stop twice and he is still naming drummers- it's crazy. I'm not even listening. I swear.

Anyway, Billy and Justin were in Face Down and Fall From Eden together until recently when Fall From Eden was put on hiatus. Needless to say, after years of practice a tight musical bond was formed- not to mention life time drinking buddies. And that is where Ryan came in. Ryan Fanguy is a previously undiscovered guitar player with a passion for the strings. He's the only guy I know that can play as fast as he talks and talk as fast as he plays. We call it God's gift. I know he draws musical influence from a lot of bands and specific artists but he's killing a snake in my shed (I'm sorry- the "Jam Room") right now. So check back later and I'll give you the skinny on his childhood likes and dislikes on the radio.

RYAN not RON!
Well, so far as I can tell, Ryan pulls a lot of his musical influences from Pink Floyd. After that I forgot. I'm sure there was something about long walks on the beach, romantic candel light dinners, and a warm furry rug in front of the fire, oh yeah, and long probing conversatins. But I forgot the direct quotes. Just remember,
"It's Ryan - not RON!"
