1ST COMMANDO REGIMENT CREST CARVING
General Information
The 1st Commando Regiment crest, the commando dagger intertwined with an Australian boomerang with its famous motto of 'Strike Swiftly' was commissioned as a special project in August 2003. It is now available for general sale and orders will be taken however from time to time this item may also be in stock. We will advise if stock is available.
The Technical Details
Each carving is hand made without the use of any powered machinery with up to three craftsmen being involved in the manufacturing process. It is carved from a single piece of timber known by its common species name of ‘walnut’. The carving measures approximately 35 cms x 31 cms with a weight of approximately 1 kilo.
Once the carving has been completed it is then finished off with an application of a wood polish, and this is applied by hand.
