Administration

Stock Maintenance

We generally do not maintain stocks of plaques and carvings in Australia.   This is mainly due to the large portfolio of designs that are currently available, the commercial viability of maintaining a large stock of our design portfolio and the fact that our business is operated on a 'made to order' basis.

Each of our plaques and carvings are made to the order of the client, however from time to time we may over-order to maintain some stock in Australia.   At the time of placing your order we will advise you whether we currently have stock of a particular design that can fulfil your order immediately.

Price Maintenance

We remain focused on maintaining our price structure so that we are able to supply our excellent products at a price that is affordable and at the same time remains competitive.

In order to prevent price increases we prefer to place a minimum order of 20 plaques or carvings on each occasion that we place an order with the manufacturer.   Outside influences also govern the cost of each plaque such as quarantine costs which are applied at the same rate whether we import one plaque or twenty.   So please take this into account when placing your order.   Please note that we encourage single individual orders but we are mindful of keeping the costs down.   Accordingly our minimum order to our manufacturer plays an important role in maintaining our price structure.

We will however order special request items for clients as a 'one off' order where clients are prepared to pay any additional costs that may be incurred in order to meet the client's order.  We will provide an estimate of costs in order to achieve this however all additional costs will be applied to the order at cost as per the second invoice.   In the event that no additional cost is incurred the client will be advised of this as soon as possible.

Turnaround Time

The approximate turn around time is five to six weeks, from the placement of the order via e-mail to your actual receipt of the plaque.  International orders will take a little longer.   Please take this time factor into consideration if you wish to have a presentation plaque prepared.   You also need to take into account our minimum order policy, see comments above re special request orders.   Slight delays may also be experienced with the manufacturer in respect to their work demands and of course with Customs and Quarantine clearance into Australia.   This is of course out of our control.   In our experience however the turn around time has been generally shorter than this and on many occasions has fallen within approximately 4 to 5 weeks from placement of the order, and these have been for large orders.   Please note however that our policy is to maintain e-mail contact with you at all critical times concerning your order.

Design Service

We provide a limited design service in respect to military themes.   If you require us to develop a concept design to suit your particular requirements a fee will apply for this service, details of which will be provided on application.

Time permitting we design military themed plaques and will make those available for general sale.

We also provide a service to clients in designing banners and inscriptions for placement on the chosen plaque design and will prepare a concept design for you.   Until further notice we are providing this service free of charge.

Costs

The price for all our products are indicated at the end of each page where the item is described.   Our prices are inclusive but do not include the cost of postage and registration/insurance to your nominated address.   Registration and insurance costs will, in the short term, remain an optional item for clients to purchase, but we highly recommend its use.  See details about 'Postage' below.

Until further notice, and in accordance with our business structure, we do not apply GST (Australian Goods and Services Tax) to our items.

Please note that plaques that require the addition of inscriptions will generally be in a higher price bracket due to the requirement for the plaque to be proportionally enlarged to fit the inscriptions onto a plaque without the appearance of the main design of the plaque being 'squeezed' onto the plaque.

Other plaques due to their design will also fall within the higher price bracket due to the requirement to produce the design onto a larger plaque and or due to intricate, delicate or highly detailed work that is required on the requested design.   This is due to the requirement to proportionally increase the overall size of the plaque to accomodate the extra work and or detail required and requires the provision of additional resources to complete the work.

Please note that when we describe inscriptions throughout this website that the inscriptions are carved into the wood, and you can see some examples of personally inscribed plaques on our 'Plaque Inscriptions' link.   Please note that we do not apply metal inscription plates to the plaque.   However on our newly designed shield shape (Reference NSP) there is ample space at the bottom of the design for a metal inscription plate to be fixed.

New commissions for wood carvings will generally be subject to a quote.   However some carvings have already been commissioned and they can be viewed on the 'Carvings' Link.   Just click onto the thumbnail of the wood carving that interests you and full information will be available including its price.

If you order more than one plaque or carving from us at the same time we will apply a minimum of a 5% discount on all plaques, even if they are of different designs, crests or within different price ranges.

No Set-Up Costs or Minimum Numbers

Please note that WE DO NOT CHARGE any additional fee's or costs for set-up or layout services that are required to undertake your project or design, apart from those costs and fee's referred to on this page or our other associated pages.

We also do not require individual clients or corporate clients to purchase a minimum number of plaques.   We can arrange the manufacture of any number from 1 to as many as you require.

Postage

Postage will be applied at cost only, that means we will mail it to you at the cheapest possible rate, anywhere within Australia or internationally.   Postal registration or insurance, if requested will also be applied at cost.

For small orders (between 1 - 3 plaques) postage costs within Australia will only increase marginally, if at all.

We do not charge a handling fee but we do invoice for packaging materials including boxes, padded envelopes and protective wrapping such as bubblewrap, again this is at cost and is applied proportionally.   If we use recycled materials we will not apply a charge.

International Orders

For our international clients we have now introduced 'PAYMATE', an on-line electronic payments system that operates in a similar way to other online payment sites that you may be familiar with.  Resulting from requests from our international clients, this form of easy on-line payment has now been introduced.   We know that this is particularly helpful to our overseas clients.   To make payment via PAYMATE you are required to have either a Mastercard or Visa credit card.

All prices on this website are in Australian dollars.   For international inquiries concerning postage rates please email us.

We ship internationally and welcome orders from overseas.   We will generally ship at the Economy Air Mail (formerly Surface Air Lifted) rate or if requested will ship by full Air Mail service or by Sea Mail, if available to your country.

Ordering Information

If you wish to order a plaque or commission a new wood carving please e-mail us as soon as possible with the following information:


The design / crest that you require;
Good drawing or facsimile of what you require in your design, if applicable;
The shield shape reference code;
The number/s required;
Name;
Full mailing address including post code / zip code;
telephone contact number including your mobile number.


After receipt of your order an invoice will be e-mailed to you confirming the order as well as providing information concerning mailing costs.   After you receive the invoice a minimum 50% deposit is required to be deposited into our electronic account, details of which will appear on the invoice.   Your order will be e-mailed to the manufacturer immediately.   Once a minimum of 20 orders has been realised you will receive a further e-mail from us advising you that this has occurred.

As soon as your plaque has been received after Australian Customs and Quarantine clearance you will receive a further invoice with the balance due.   Once the balance due has been confirmed into our account your item/s will be mailed to you and you will receive a confirmation of mailing notice by e-mail.

DISCOUNTS AND INCENTIVE SCHEMES

Discounts

A discount of 5% applies to the next order that you place with us or if your first order contains two or more carved items, irrespective of the design.   This discount will apply indefinately, providing that when you re-order that you remind us that you are have ordered from us previously and you identify the item that you previously purchased from us.

Larger orders from organisations and groups also attract further discounts and corporate commissions for new work that result in a large volume of sales will attract a corporate discount rate.

We provide all of our discounts and incentives to all eligible applicants, including organisations, associations, societies and veteran organisations.

Incentive Scheme

Individual clients who attract business that results in the purchase of five hand carved wooden items or more will receive special incentives for their contribution to our business.   Details will be provided on application by each applicant who proposes to generate sales that reach a minimum of five confirmed sales or more.

I operate out of a business office located in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, details of which appear on our invoices.   My main telephone contact number is (07) 3882 3528 or in emergencies on my mobile 0412 772 027.   I have been issued with an Australian Business Number (ABN) and this appears on all our invoices.  I do not operate out of a post office box.   I am easily contactable and will respond as soon as possible to any inquiry.   I am also contactable through our e-mail address of rayzor@dodo.net.au.  This is our preferred method of communication because a hard copy of the communication is kept and logged.
