well, i suppose i should just write this as if i'd been updating for a whole year a few times a week, but there's a little catching up to do, i'll do the fast forward version.

2 weeks after we closed on our house, jesse was conceived. 4 months later, i found out. five months and 5 days later, jesse was born. pix to come soon. hopefully. colby got a big raise, and now i drive a lexus. not really, i mean colby DID get a raise, but i drive a 10 year old chrysler. i love the car, don't get me wrong. so then we decided that we weren't getting ahead enough already, and that another baby was going to make us live pretty much from paycheck to paycheck again. In the immortal word of Bilbo Baggins, "Action was called for". so here we are in alliance nebraska, so colby can go to school to be a radiology tech. not his life's ambition, but that one wasn't makin' too much money. he can still do sound on the side though after it's all said and done. he'll have a lot more time with this kind of job. so, colby transferred to the HD up here, and is trying to get on with UPS. He had an interview wednesday, we'll know if he got the job by the middle of next week. if he gets it he'll still keep HD part time, but UPS will give us free health care, so this is something we really really want/need.

meanwhile i'm at home trying to get the house and my body in shape enough to live in. the house is far from baby proof, so i'm pretty much on teetering on the edge of sobriety (thank you ani) and sanity. we're starting with the 17 cabinets jax's been digging through. jess is a lot bigger than jax was. he's already in clothes that jax wasn't even wearing at 4 months.

being here really isn't a bad deal though, my parents have a big house with an upstairs that, aside from the kitchen, they really don't use. besides the kitchen, there's a living room (that room is dead to us though, it's so breakable) a bathroom, and 2 bedrooms, so the upstairs of their house is bigger than our last place, anyway. i think they bought this place with my slightly senial nana in mind. but we'll be out by the time she'll be needing to move in with them.

so--western nebraska--who knew?

drop me a comment if you still check this.

if you ever decide to buy a house, or take out a loan at all, do NOT go with these people. unless you want EVERYTHING in the world to get FUBAR.

i used to think having a baby in my lap made it hard to type. now, thank goodness, i have a baby in my lap helping me type.

we're supposed to close on a house today, but the bastard broker is lazy and irresponsible, and charges too much. of course we have our reasons for not being able to go to someone else--about the time we realized this guy was worthless, the people we're buying the house from decided they wanted to split up, and the guy didn't want to sell his house anymore. he said he'd sell it, as long as we closed on time, which wasn't possible if we'd've stopped to shop around, and we really wanted this little house.
we were hoping to find hardwood floors under the carpet yesterday in the walk thru, but it looks like there used to be stickdown tile on top of some particle board, and there's probably hardwood under that, but they might have glued it down to the original floor. maybe just nailed it, we'll have to see what happens when we tear it all up.

we had a good time in eastland over the holiday, met rockin' (rykin) michaela, jaxon's younger cousin who outweighs him by about 7 pounds. i can't believe it, jax is starting to crawl, they called it the army crawl, it's really cute and slow. if he stays at this speed forever it'll be okay, he's already gotten into a few things going at about 18 inches a minute :) well, not forever, but at least until we can get things mostly unpacked and the house semi baby proof...

it really is terrible. they shot a little 18 month old in her room. some gang inititation i expect. but we don't live near there at all. i'm more worried about where Holly is going to live out in LA.

so, as the closing-of-our-house day slowly creeps nearer, i'm starting to notice furniture sales on the tele, like IKEA is having a big summer sale right now in frisco (just north of dallas), but we don't have the money for any brand new furniture just yet. hmmm...furniture? hey, here's a cute picture.

Lubbock sucks, so we moved to fort worth, because their zoo is a million times better. than the dallas zoo. Lubbock doesn't even have a zoo. they have dirt. cool people, but lots of dirt, dust, sand, and you can't grow anything there but squirrelly beets. and cotton. colby's got family and lots of old friends out here, and i've got...colby. i'm about 5 hours closer to amy, but i'm still about 5 hours away.

we're living with his dad and wife. dad's wife. colby doesn't have another wife. wife's one of those words that sounds weird if you say it a lot.

we're not actually in fort worth, we're about 30 minutes south. people up there are crazy. you can get stabbed in traffic. we've been here a month and still haven't made it up to downtown yet. yesterday we were out house shopping, and it was 108 degrees, and they're saying that the energy is getting used up too fast so peoples power is getting randomly shut off, w/o warning. not down here though, this town's too small for all that. 108 degrees, and it's only april.

we've met some cool people though already, and colby really likes home depot, and jax loves his papaw and granny b.
