1975 Meeting
ABC last game of the 1975 season was a special Saturday night game with the best two teams in the NFL.
The 12-1 Steelers met the 11-2 Rams in the last game of the 1975 season. Both defenses ranked 1-2 in the NFL.
Over 85,000 Ramfans at the Coliseum saw both offenses run the ball well.
The Steelers rushed for 171 yards and the Rams 170 yards.
With the score 3-3 late in the fourth quarter, Ron Jaworski (this was his first starting game in the NFL) led the Rams on a 12 play drive to the Steelers 5 yard line.
One of the loudest roars ever at the Coliseum happened when Jaworski did a QB draw and scored.
Rams beat the World Champions 10-3.
1978 Game
The Steelers were 9-1 and had the best record in the NFL.
Both defenses ranked 1-2 in the NFL.
In the third quarter, Pittsburgh got on the scoreboard first with a 14 yard TD from Bradshaw to Swann.
Corral hit a 37 yard field goal to cut it to 7-3.
The Rams defense stuffed the run. The Steelers only rushed for 59 yards.
The Rams rushed for 176 and 106 of them was by John Cappaletti.
Pat Haden hit Willie Miller with a 10 yard winning TD.
Rams win 10-7.
