RAM VS FALCONS HISTORY

Rams lead the Falcons with a 46-23-2 record.

The pic by the great fearsome foursome

The Los Angeles Rams and Atlanta Falcons first game was in 1966. It was the Atlanta Falcons first regular season game ever and it was also George Allen's first regular season game as the Ram head Coach. Rams win 19-14.

Henry Ellard in 1984 on a Monday night ran two punts back for a TD.

But, the game I remember like it happened two days ago was on a monday night in 1978. The Rams lost 15-7, but, what stands out is how they lost.

Atlanta signed their FG kicker that monday morning. His Name was Tim Mazzeti, He went 5 for 5 that night.

He was a bartender that Sunday night and became Monday night folklore.

1969 MEETING

The Rams and Falcons met in the second week of the 1969 season. Atlanta's new head coach, Norm Van Brocklin thought he try a new trick on the Ram defense by bringing back the oldest offensive formation, the tight T.

Over 66,000 at the Coliseum witnessed a Ram defense at it's best.

The Falcons were held to 36 yards in the first half and only 22 yards in the air for the entire game.

The Rams sacked Atlanta's QB, Bob Berry 10 times.

The Rams make it 2 in a row with a 17-7 win. LISTEN

1973 MEETING

It was the second game of the 1973 season. Even though the Rams beat the favored Chiefs to open the season. The experts still didn't believe in the Rams. The RAMS were a 3 point underdog, even with the Rams playing at home before 71,000 Ramfans.

The Rams dominated the Falcons in every area. On offense the Rams almost gained 500 yards total. Virtually 270 on the ground.

The defense was even better.

The Falcons were held to less than 100 yards total and only got 8 first downs for the entire game.

The Rams go 2-0 with a 31-0 win.

RAMS MAKE A STATMENT

The Rams registered 30 first down and had the ball for almost 42 minutes.

The defense was even better. Allowing just 8 first downs and less that 80 yards total for Atlanta.

RAMS WIN 59-0
