Following the tragedy of Bloody Valentine, the tension between the Earth Alliance (Naturals) and Zaft (Coordinators), developed into serious military engagements. Everyone believed that victory would come to the Earth Alliance, who outnumbered ZAFT. However despite those predictions, ZAFT had the upper hand because of their deployments of Mobile Suits. But even with the Mobile Suits, ZAFT wasn't able to advance any further in the war. 11 months have pass since the war had begun, they are now at a stalemate.
