Hi there one and all,
Welcome to our new revised home page.... The
previous version was slow and a bit tedious, particularly when it came to
opening the photos.
Well as the majority of you would know, we finally
made our move to beautiful Queensland - you know as Peter Beattie would
say "Beautiful one day, magnificent the next" - I know, he didn't say
exactly that I just made it up..
We have spent the past 6 months in rental
accommodation in Worongary, pronounced (warren gary) which is
approximately 15 minutes from just about everywhere, including Surfers
Paradise. Worongary is situated on the hinterland side of the
Pacific Highway (left side) as you travel towards Brisbane,
incidentally we are about 40 minutes from central Brissy.
From the 6th of July we are moving to a temporary
home at Advance town (just over the back - about 10 minutes further
inland) to a place called Cedar Lakes, the place is actually a "Country
Club: used by "time share" holders, we were lucky to secure this place at
a very reasonable price, which includes all the usual services like power
etc (and it also includes a weekly cleaning service), all at considerably
less than we are paying at present here. We are moving as our lease
runs out and the owner is presently trying to sell, so we are being
considerably inconvenienced by having to avail ourselves to have
inspections....
We are in the process of building again. This
time we are building a two storey home and hopefully that will be close
to, if not completed by Christmas, so we are not prepared to commit to a
long term lease... As for news this year, as
I am sure most will be aware, Marcus spent the past 7 months on his second
tour of East Timor, he did return home to Darwin for a quick 10 day visit
in December, and during that time he got engaged to Kate. Marcus
returned to Australia on May the 8th, Glenn and I took a flying visit late
May at which time Marcus and Kate had their engagement party. Please
don't ask when the wedding is going to be, or where for that matter, April
has been touted as the approximate time and the venue is not decided yet.
(That could very well change though) |

Jake and Sam have had a pretty good year so far, since
coming up here Jake has joined the Mudgeeraba "Saints" footy club, he was
selected as Captain of the under 14's, it has absolutely boosted his
confidence, he is a whole different person.
Sam, has resumed his tennis lessons, however he has
now started competition of a Saturday morning, he is doing well there too.
Both are travelling along great with their schooling
now, after a little bit of a rough trot earlier in the year, dealing with
the new school and no friends, they have managed to fit in well and make a
bunch of new friends.
Glenn is loving his work, although as I create this
he is currently not working from his "display house" as that was handed
back to the owner, the new displays are not due to be ready for a few more
weeks at least, so for the meantime he is enjoying mine, his mum and dads
company...
Glenn and I passed big milestones this year, we have
both had our (dare I say it) 40th birthdays, I keep getting told it's all
downhill from here..... I only feel like I'm 18 with 22 years
experience.... hehehe
Oh well I have rambled on for long enough now, I
hope you enjoy what I have put together. Feel free to put in your
comments . If you want to contact us please
feel free, we can be contacted on our mobiles, I will update this site
when we have a phone number and our postal address for the next 6 months
at least is:
