No, you can only join one guild at a time. However, you can leave your old guild and join a new one.

Do you really get free paint brushes?

Yes, on the 14th of every month, an unbuyable paint brush is given out. Also, many of the prizes for other contests are paint brushes.

These are the ranks of people in the guild. 1 is the highest, and trainee is the lowest.

I followed the instructions, how come I don't have my newbie pack/rank upgrade yet?

If you followed the instructions correctly, then be patient. It usually takes me about a day to reply to all my neomails and give the members their newbie packs/rank upgrades.
