Membership

Sec. 1 New Members

a) A completed written or online application must be submitted to the Director or Scribe.

b) Reception of new members shall occur upon the next gathering.

Sec. 2 Children of Members

a) Children of members age 13-17 are allowed to join and participate, after the parent or legal guardian has returned a signed and notarized statement of permission.

Sec. 3 Membership Responsibility

a) All members accept responsibility for their own actions as they reflect upon the name of NSC.

b) Members are responsible for living a life in a manor that inspires respect for NSC.

c) Members should respect the faiths of all people and the right of all to chose a path that is correct for them.

d) Members have a responsibility to care for and provide the direction of the NSC by their participation in the operation of the NSC, which includes: attending gatherings, social and special events, online communications, as to the best of their ability considering personal and works schedules.

e) Members are responsible for exercising their right to vote upon issues or for the Executive Officers and Council Members that represent them. These rights however are limited to the guidelines on voting rights as set out in Sec. 8 of the by-laws entitled "voting."

Sec. 8 Voting

Each NSC member, who has been a member for and attended at least four (4) out of six (6) gatherings/meetings/functions in the last quarter prior to an election or vote of any sort, shall have but one vote. All votes must be in person or by proxy/absentee at the time and place of such election or voting. A majority shall be 50% +1 of the members present and voting upon any such matter.
