4.6L Mustang GT Head Removal

If you own a 1996-1998 Mustang GT and want to increase its performance then this article is for you. The cylinder heads of any motor are where everything is let in and out as long as the engine is operating normally. The heads control everything that happens to the engine whether it is an eight thousand horsepower Top Fuel Dragster with a nitro burning V-8, or your lawn boy mower with only one cylinder. In order for the motor to make significant power it has to be able to breathe. If the extra air and fuel are pushed in and can’t get out before more is pushed in, the motor will overwork its self and fail. If the exhaust is flowing well and the intake isn’t pushing the mixture then the motor will lose power. One place to correct this problem is in the heads. The intake port and intake valve size on the head determines how much air and fuel can be pushed into the combustion chamber at one time. In turn the size of the exhaust valve and exhaust port on in the head determines how much of the gas can be pushed out after combustion takes place. The more air and fuel you can get in the more power you can make. For safety on a forced induction motor the exhaust should always outflow the intake. The only way to check the flow capabilities of your heads or change the characteristics of your heads is to remove them. So lets get started.
