Welcome to my Personal Web Site

To describe, in writing, someone’s attributes especially your own is difficult. Knowing where to start is the first problem so here goes........   Back in the 1980’s I purchased a Minolta XG-M 35mm SLR camera with a 50mm lens and flash unit. The purchase was so that I could record the growth of my family with a reliable camera. This is certainly what it did. After a couple of years I treated myself to a Sirius 28 - 210mm zoom lens with built in macro feature. This totally changed the characteristics of the tame and gentle camera into the “ever searching for that unique photograph” aggressive beast that it became. Many 1000’s of images from that combination have been developed and printed. Many of the photos have been patiently mounted into scrap books with a little anecdote written near each photo. Holidays have provided many photos and it has always been part of my holiday to take lots of composed photos together with those important snap shots. Over recent years the holiday photos have never been allocated the time to be mounted into scrap books and they are now in separate heaps for each holiday. The task has now escaped me an I fear that they may never be mounted. (Advert: Have always found W H Smiths’ scrap books to be the best together with their little white double sided adhesive mounts)

The digital camera, in many formats, came onto the market and yes they have sold. Seems that now we need to have image sizes up to 5 million pixels. I bought a cheap Aiptek web cam or camera and this introduced me to digital photography. Then bought myself a bottom of the range Hewlett Packard digital camera. This one was physically taken from me by a youth near the Woolwich Ferry and after recovering from the shock immediately bought myself a Cannon Powershot A40 replacement camera with a large 256KB card. This camera has taken over from the Minolta XG-M 35mm SLR as most of my photos are now managed on the home computer. A visit to Chronicle2003  will show some of the results from this camera. It will also show one of my favourite hobbies. (More to follow........... )
