As the music pulsated and the lights dance we find ourselves late into the Toronto night, amidst a sea of people all enjoying the rhythm of such life. Through the sea we notice one man sitting at a table alone. The man is dressed in a pair of Tommy carpenter jeans, a blue structure button down shirt and a pair of black docs. His long brown hair hangs over his shoulders and the lights emulate in his chrome industrial shades. Tonight he looks to be drinking alone, as if he is contemplating something amongst all this madness around him. That is, he was drinking alone, until a blonde beauty wearing a pair of low rise jeans , white halter top and open toe sandals take a seat next to him. The lady smiles and ask.

Can I trouble you for a dance?

The man smirks as he replies.

I don’t think you could handle me.

The lady now smirks.

Why don’t we find out?

The man stands up from the table and leads the lady to the dance floor. The tempo of the song is fast paced as they tempt each other with every step. The look in their eyes tell you that there is already some chemistry at work. After several minutes the song ends and he escorts her back to his table. He takes a sip of his drink , witch we now notice is nothing more then water. She smiles as she ask.

I will take one of those.

He motions to a passing waitress to bring another bottle of water.

So may I now trouble you for your name?

He takes his shades off so he can look her in the eyes.

Jarred.

She reaches her hand across the table to shake his hand and as they shake she tells him.

Kelly. My name is Kelly.

They share a smile but then she presses on.

So Jarred, tell me about yourself.

Well, I am a Pro Wrestler.

She rolls her eyes and cuts him off.

Another fan, I should have known. You have a copy on you? I will sign it and excuse my self.

Excuse me?

You are a fan. You have a copy of TWS on you so I can go?

He just gives he a blank stare.

Lets cut the crap. You know I am Kelly Baker from The Wrestling Spotlight magazine. And you are a wrestling fan. A very dumb one at that. You men think that just because I am a woman that I took my job at TSW because I could not get another and that I don’t know anything about wrestling. But let me inform you I have been a wrestling fan all my life and if you were really a wrestler, I would have not had to ask your name. I could have introduced you to the masses here and told them everything about you. Everything!

He laughs as he speaks.

Look, I don’t read the wrestling spotlight or any other wrestling magazine for that matter and I am really a wrestler. My name is Jarred Heights.

She now covers her mouth with both hands as she has a look of shock on her face.

Jarred Heights, the Jarred Heights from Tokyo?

Well I have wrestled in Europe and Mexico also.

IM so sorry. I have heard of you. But I spend my time covering wrestling in America and Canada so I never seen you.

At least you have heard of me.

Oh yeah, our International writer goes on and on about you.

He smiles.

Oh really? What does he say?

She smirks

That you are not half as good as you think you are.

Ouch.

But he says that will still take you a long ways.

She smiles at him.

Rumor has it that you killed your tag team partner in a night club in Tokyo. And all because he did not want to come wrestle in North America. Is that true?

No. Kenta was like a brother to me. I would have never hurt him.

Then, what happened?

Kenta had some gambling problems and he was into some pretty dangerous people for a lot of money.

Then why did you get blamed ?

Because maybe those people are also very important people. Think about it. I made it no secrete where I was going. Did they try and have me expedited back to Japan? No, they had no need. The blame had been shifted and that is all that they wanted. If I went back and faced trial I could easily prove my innocence , and then they would be without a scape goat.

How could you prove your innocence and if you can why not go back and do so?

There are people who could place me away from that club at the time of the murder. But it would take years for the case to work through the courts and I would have to spend that time in prison awaiting my name to be cleared. I am too young and too damn good to be wasting away in a prison cell. I need to be in a ring.

Why are you in Canada?

I have a tryout match later this week with the NEW.

You can wrestle anywhere you want with the exception of Japan. So Why wrestle in the NEW

I wrestled in Japan and proved myself. I wrestled in Europe and proved myself. I wrestled in Mexico and proved myself. The next step, the final step is here in North America. This is the place that matters. Did you hear yourself earlier? I heard of you but never seen you? In Japan kids have posters of me on their walls. In Europe I actually endorsed a soft drink and in Mexico they all chanted my name. But you, a wrestling reporter had never seen my face. Your superstars are well known and well loved over there. Why? Because this is where wrestling matters world wide.

Look at the NEW. The name says it all, New Era, I am the New Era in wrestling. How can you claim to be the best if you are not facing the best week in and week out? I am the best lady, I am Poetry in Motion and in the NEW not only do I get to fight for bragging rights here in the NEW, but I get a chance to show case my skills to the world. Why would I not want to be here?

So why don’t you read The Wrestling Spotlight, or any other wrestling magazine for that matter?

How can you people watch a match and judge wrestlers when most of you have never wrestled a match before?

Another one of those men assumption things. You think just because I am a woman that I have never wrestled? Haven’t you been watching wrestling on TV lately?

He smiles at her

I would like to take you on your word at that. But I am afraid that I am going to have to ask you to show me some of your moves.

She smirks back

I don’t think you can handle me.

With a big smile he ask

Why don’t we find out?

The two lean in for a kiss and just before their lips meet , the scene fades out.
