The Woman Suffrage occured in the 1800's. Basically it was a time period where woman were looked down upon, and given no rights or respect. Woman were not aloud to go to school, learn to read or write, wear what they wanted, and they didn't have the right to vote, let alone run for prime minister. Few selective women tried to stand up to these ruling men, and get rights, women like Nelly McClung. What she and other headstrong and hopeful women did, has led to the same rights that women have today.
