NutraSolve 4.0

  • To start off with I would like to thank “ph” and all the others who were involved in the making of the premixppm excel spread sheet. Their work gave me the inspiration to make the NutraSolve program.

  • NutraSolve is a software application to aid in the management of hydroponic nutrients profiles for all types of plants.

  • With NutraSolve you can dial in the ppm of each element needed for a  plants growth in each stage of its life cycle.

  • NutraSolve will also display the estimated EC values of your nutrient mixture and will also display how much nutrients is needed for your water supply.

Adding Other Nutrients

  • nTo add other nutrients correctly you will need to be able to measure quantities of your nutrient in grams and mL. A digital or beam scale would be required along with a graduated cylinder or beaker. Also you will need to know the % of each nutrient elements (N,P,K, Fe, Cl, and so on). This can normally be found on your bottles of nutrients.

Note: you can use just the information on your bottle if you have the weight listed on the bottle Eg, 1 quart bottle, 946mL ( 2.4 lbs) but it wont be that accurate.
  • nThe first measurement needed is the actual weight of your nutrient (1 gram sometimes doesn’t equal 1 mL).

The best way to measure this is to take 10 mL of nutrient and weigh it. Then take the weight reading and divide it by the sample.  Eg .. 10mL of nutrient weighs 11.2 grams,  11.2/10 = 1.12 grams per mL.

  • nNext you will need to make up a mix of each part of nutrients. I will use the General Hydroponics Flora Series as a example.
Since this is a 3 part formula nutrient you will need 3 gallon jugs of Reverse Osmosis or Distilled water. Label each jug of water to match the nutrients. Micro, Grow, Bloom. Now add 10mL of Micro to the Jug labeled Micro, Mix Well. Take a ppm reading  of this jug.  ppm reading / 10mL = ppm of 1 ml per Gallon. You will need to do this process for each part of your nutrients.

Using NutraSolve

  • This is the first screen you will see when you run the program. From here you can select the nutrients that you will be using from the dropdown boxes. Or you can add your nutrients to the program as above.

The only nutrients that are fully usable by the program are the GH Nutrients, Thanks to "Ph" and the others for there testing and verify the results.

After you select your nutrients you will click on the Reservoir Mix button and you will see the screen that is pictured below.

Note: You can just click on the Reservoir Mix button if you just want to load some of the included profiles or load your own. The nutrients will be automatically loaded.

Using NutraSolve

  • On this screen there are a few things to play with.

The buttons down the center are for adding Epson Salt, ph up and ph down.

The source water column is used if you have a water analysis. (www.grotek.net)

The blue column on the left is the reading just on the nutrients elements with the estimated TDS for your mix.

The gold column is the total profile including your source water data and any adjustments ( epson salt , ph up/down )

On the Right side of the screen we have a handy little conversion utillity if you need it. Under that you enter the size of the resevoir your going to mix for or the quantity you want to mix up.

Select use weights for liquid or not ( this refers to if you actually measured the weight of the nutrients.

Use Per Lirer is for you metric system dudes so check it if you are using liters.

Next you see a list of the nutrients you selected from the first screen, In the left white column ( For Gallon Dudes ) or the Right Column ( For Liter Dudes ) you enter the mL of the nutrient your going to add. ( this is for 1 Gal ) pay attention!!!
and you will start seeing ppm numbers showing up on the left side of the screen and your Estimated TDC will fill out with data.

The Light Blue column on the right will give you the Total Amount of that nutrient to add to your reservoir or mix.

    Peace and Have FUN!!
