FLAMES LATEST TRADES!

Thursday, March 18th

Late in the night of March 18th, the Calgary flames struck another deal bringing the talented defenseman Danny Markov to the flames in exchange for Kyle Mclaren and a pick. Mclaren was shocked when he first heard about the news  when GM Devin MacAulay phoned him in the wee hours of the night.

Kyle Mclaren- " Honestly  I was really shocked, I never saw this coming but that's what happens in hockey so I'll have to deal with it. I just want to thank all the fans of Calgary who have been so nice to me here and I wish the organization and all the players the best."

We tried to get a hold of GM but we couldn't so we spoke with Coach Sutter

" It was a tough call, Mclaren has done some absolutely great things for us hear but we felt this would strengthen our Defense."

Markov will not debut tonight due to injury but new flame Ron Francis will

After a disappointing loss to the mustangs where the flames played less the inspired hockey, GM Devin MacAulay has pulled together another move that brings Super Star Ron Francis to Calgary.

"Tonight we showed we needed some more help still on Defense so I decided with Coach Sutter, to bring in a superstar player who will help us a great deal on both offense and Defense and power play."

Sent packing was Tomas Holmstrom, A prospect and a pick.

 Wednesday March 17th

What a better day then St.Patricks day to make a deal. Today the flames sent young Defensemen Robyn Regehr and veteran winger Kirk Maltby to the hitmen in return they received David Vyborny and a solid Defensemen in Chris Therien. GM Devin MacAulay said " we never planned on sending Regehr or Maltby packing as they've done great for our organization, it was just a case where a great deal arose and the team felt it would in their best move to take it. From the Hitmen we got a great forward and a real talent and also we got a veteran back on D who is a big physical man and will really help us out."
