vs.
Game Summary (March 18th, 2004)
The flames found themselves coming just a bit short tonight as they lost a must win game against the Dallas Mustangs. The Mustangs had the lead the whole night through and never looked back. After Mike Madano popped his 23rd of the season at 11:50 of the first period, the wind went out of the flames sails. Al MacInnis brought the game within 1 scoring his 13th goal but the mustangs would quickly get that back with Madano firing his 24th and 2nd of the game past Ed Belfour. MacInnis would pop his 2nd of the game as well but too little to late as the Mustangs took this game 3-2.
One positive was the return of Lucky Luc Robitaille to the pro's. In his first game back he managed to record an assist on the 2nd MacInnis goal.

Players Comments after the game:
Joe Sakic- It's disappointing to say the least. We really felt like we had the momentum from last game to give us a boost for tonight, we also had a day off to practice and well to put it bluntly we came up flat.
Coach Sutter- Awful game, we're lucky we didn't get blown out tonight! It seemed at some points in the game that our heads just weren't in it and they capitalized. We have some of our top forwards who didn't even register a shot on net tonight. Overall a bad game for us and we best bounce back tomorrow. But I wouldn't rule out seeing a couple of new faces before tomorrows game
