DJ Kid Rap & Gangsta Pete

Discography

In Late 1989 DJ Kid Rap was starting to see less & less of his first group Da Raptaz he just didnt fit in what the group was starting to form into. Another rapper coming into Raptaz Rekedz Gangsta Pete was just what Kid needed to stay fresh in the game & in the raptaz family. After hearing eachother in a freestyle contest they started talking and hooked up to make a tape together. They showed the tape to Joe & he gave them the go. Together they recorded they're first song intitled Back of Da Bus which went on there first LP intitled Killuh Dope released in spring of 1991 the album did so well that the started on a second project which usually doesnt happen when rappers just "hook up" for a record they were unstoppable together like Method Man & Redman or Kool G Rap & DJ Polo they needed to stay together so they went back into the studio to do a second album together! In 1994 they released there second album intitled Straight out of Da Port at this time Gangsta Pete still hadn't put out his own solo album! He was having too much fun and too busy with his partner who had put out 3 albums by then. They then split up fr a while to go there on seperate ways and in 1995 Gangsta Pete finished his first LP called 4 which was becasue it was his 4th album in a way he had his two records with DJ Kid Rap & also his other group he was a part of Big Mobb mean while DJ Kid Rap seemed to dissapear untill December of 1995 where Kid Rap & Gangsta bumped into eachother & the crows asked them to do a jam together they did & after this they began to talk & decieded to make a reunion album together. So they went back into the studio together for the 3rd time to make a another multi platinum album together. Before the month was up they had put out a new single intitled (Familiar) Look at you now. Which sold a whopping 10,000 copies within the first month of its release!! That is more than most Raptaz Rekedz albums do totally! The song was such a hit that it went on to be passed around through major record companies and a DJ named DJ GB asked if he could have the song for the upcoming soundtrack he was going to be in and he paid Raptaz Rekedz $20,000 for it. But in the summer of 1997 the album intitled Familiar released WITH the track intitled Familiar on it and the album was a great succsess it turned out to be they're best release yet and one of the best Raptaz Rekedz albums ever. In 1999 they released there next album together intitled Deep In Da Game which didnt do as well as Familiar but still racked in alot of cash and did sell a alot of copies. They split up again for a second time in 2000 and are now finally back again to make another album to see what they can do now. It seems that they make a couple albums take a break then make anohter couple of masterpieces then break up again repeativly apparently they're like Too $hort & just cant stay away.
