NOTE: All series 53's with The Old style pistons and sleeves were 25:1. The 53's compression was lowered to 21:1 because of the problem of bending rods (25:1, 21:1 are Naturally Aspirated. Turbo models were dropped to 18.7:1 for the fact of the boost from the turbo) you need Full N sleeve and piston for turbo models
(Also the old 25:1's had H.V & L.V Injectors
The arrow pointing to the gear that gave the trouble for the 53's it had to run everything Blower, Cam, Balancing shaft (V's RIGHT CAM) and governor the other side of the governor ran the fuel pump. This problem was bad on ALL 8V53's and some 6V53's
Depending what you're running on your cam pulley and balancing pulley!!! Watch what you run. It runs on a bushing that has poor oil supply, big tip.....
