"Silver Bullet"

Disclaimer: I do not own the characters created in the movie "The Lost Boys" nor the character of Marty Coslaw from "Silver Bullet." I will not make any money off of these characters or this story as I am just posting it online. As for the characters not in the movie but in my story I did create myself so don't you be stealin' my ideas. That is of course the characters Timandra, Serafine, Treat, and Tobias.

Sam Emerson was walking alone on the Boardwalk under the darkening orange sky. He had just left the Frog's comic store. They had agreed to meet again tomorrow to talk about the werewolf. As he walked down the Boardwalk Sam noticed a beautiful blonde girl running from a man. Sam quickly followed the tall man chasing the girl. The girl ran onto the beach and kept running towards the bridge where the train crossed. Sam struggled to keep up with them. They turned around a corner. Sam could no longer see them. When Sam finally caught up he saw that the man was laying on the floor unconscious and the girl was running away. Sam called out to her, "Wait! Are you okay? What's your name?" The girl just kept running. Sam noticed she had dropped a bracelet as she ran. Sam went over and picked it up and put in his pocket. Sam then continued on his way home thinking he'd never see the girl again.
When Sam got home he and his brother Michael were in the living room of their house. They had finally convinced their mother to buy a television set. Since she became manager of "The Video Hut" she had been making extra money so the first thing Sam asked for was a TV set. On the show playing a boy, Adam Reid came out of a locker and asked, "Hey Alasdair?"
Alasdair opened the locker he was in responded "Yes Adam?"
"What's the first thing that vampire children learn?"
"I don't know," Alasdair said with out realizing. Then Alasdair remembered what happened when anyone would say, "I don't know" on "You Can't Do That On Television." He looked up and made a disgusted face. A big bucket of green slime poured out all over Alasdair's head.
"Sorry Al. The correct answer was that they learn not to run with Stakes."
Sam laughed as he watched the show. Then Lucy came in and reminded them that their cousin Marty Coslaw was coming to visit for a while and they had to go pick him up. Sam and Marty were great friends. People would always say they looked alike but they didn't see it. Sam and Mike went to the airport and waited for Marty. Marty came out in "the Silver Bullet" a wheelchair his uncle Red made for him. It had the engine of a motor cycle. Marty drove over to Sam and Mike. Marty's legs were paralyzed so he had to use the wheel chair. After they arrived at home Sam immediately asked Marty what really happened to him a year ago. "You wouldn't believe me if I told you."
"No Marty," Sam said, "Me and Mike had a run-in with some vampires earlier this summer so I won't think you're crazy."
"Vampires? Really? Well okay then. You see it turned out that the Reverend Rowe was really a werewolf killing the people in my town. Me and my sister and uncle made a silver bullet and killed it."
"Well I hate to tell you this but I think that the mayor here is a werewolf. I was hoping you could help us kill him."
"A werewolf here in Santa Carla. Can't my life ever be normal? "
Sam took Marty to meet with Edgar and Alan Frog and Laddie. The boys were going to plot the brining down of the werewolf mayor. The 5 boys were at The Frog's Comic store. Edgar and Alan were shocked when they saw Sam and Marty together. The two boys were almost identical. Only Marty was in a wheel chair. Laddie was the first to say something (Which is unusual 'cause in the movie his only line was "Star, Star!")
Laddie said, "Is it just me or are you guys like twins?"
Sam and Marty said in unison, "What are you talking about? We look nothing alike."
"Right," Edgar said in his raspy voice. "Anyway let's get down to business. If Mayor Treat Wilson is a werewolf we have got to stop him."
Marty: "Well I successfully killed the wolf in my town maybe I was able to get my Uncle Red to make silver bullet to kill it."
Sam: "Only problem is that uncle Red was arrested for the murder of Rev. Rowe. So he ain't gonna be much help."
Marty: "That's right. He took the blame for the whole incident with Rev. Rowe. Since no one would believe us that he was a werewolf. Then who do we know that can help us?"
Sam: "I've got it! Grandpa. He's lived here in Santa Carla all his life. I'm sure he knows someone who could make us a silver bullet."
And sho nuff Gramps was able to get the job done. He knew there were a lot of strange things that happened in Santa Carla. He was no stranger to the paranormal after living in Santa Carla which seemed to be the center of weirdness. Gramps handed Sam the silver bullet. Sam took and began to walk away before Gramps could ask any questions. But he was unsuccessful.
"Hey Sam."
Sam turned around feeling he was about to get a lecture.
"Yeah Grandpa?"
Grandpa glared at Sam. "Did you actually think you'd get away with this?"
"Well I...you see--."
"You're mother told you to take out the trash before you left the house. Now git."
"You mean you weren't going to ask why I needed a silver bullet?"
"No, to kill a werewolf right? Now go get your chores done."
Sam left relieved that Gramps hadn't given him a hard time.
Sam, Edgar, Alan, Laddie, and Marty sneaked in to the Mayor's Manor late that night. The moon was full. Marty waited outside with a gun loaded with the silver bullet. Sam and Edgar went in watched the mayor sitting in his library. He was on the phone with Tavis, his associate.
Treat: "So everything will go down tomorrow night."
Tavis: "Yes Treat. But remember Rowe is hard to control just like his brother the reverend was."
Treat: "Rowe is not a problem. Leave him to me."
Sam and Edgar were shocked when Treat turned around and smiled exposing large fangs in his teeth. His yellow eyes seemed to glow in the dim light. Sam almost yelled but caught himself. They quickly got up to leave. Edgar accidentally knocked over a vase in the hall. The crash alerted Mayor Treat Wilson. He chased after the two boys. As they came outside Marty and the others were surprised to see that Treat was actually a vampire and not a werewolf. They all ran for their lives. Luckily Alan thought always had a tube of holy water with him. He threw it at Treat and Treat was burned. That held him off long enough for the boys to escape.
Back at Sam's house the boys reflected on what had happened.
Laddie: "Well it appears we were 'barking' up the wrong tree. Treat wasn't a werewolf after all."
Sam: "Yeah he's a god damn shit-sucking vampire! But it turns out Rev. Rowe has a brother."
Marty: "Is his brother the werewolf?"
Sam: "That's what it sounded like."
Michael and Star came in.
Star: "What are you guys up to? You all look so intense. It's summer lighten up."
Laddie: "Well Star, Michael, I don't think that's going to happen. You see it looks like we got a Vampire and a werewolf on our hands."
Mike: "You're kidding me right?"
Sam: "No Mikey I'm afraid it's true."
Edgar: "I think that Treat Wilson may be the new Head Vampire."
Mike: "I thought after Max was killed there would be no more."
Alan: "You thought wrong chief. You see there are many different packs of Vampires. They are not all led by just one Head Vamp. So it appears that now Treat has come to Santa Carla and has created a new gang of vamps and is taking over Max's territory."
Marty held onto the silver bullet. Edgar and Alan went to work on making stakes. Meanwhile Lucy was making Steaks in the kitchen to feed Sam and Mike's friends. She didn't ask what all this was about. She just let them take care of it. She didn't want to get involved. She was still hurt after the whole incident with Max. She changes the channel whenever those Dodge commercials come on because the spokesman reminds her of Max. Whatever was going on Lucy hoped that Mike and Sam would be careful and stop whatever it was.
It was now the next night. The team of teens still didn't know what Wilson's big plans were but they were prepared for just about anything. Treat was giving a speech at the town hall. Sam, Marty and the others were outside ready for anything. Just then a werewolf ran into the hall and started attacking the people. Treat took action and grabbed the gun from the security guard, who was frozen with fear, and he shot the wolf. The wolf fell to the ground bleeding. Tavis took the "dead" body away.
Treat: "I'm sorry about that folks. Is everyone all right? Tavis, call animal control and have them get rid of that thing."
A reporter in the audience named Tanner said, "That was the most heroic thing I've ever seen anyone do."
"Thank you Tanner but I only did what I thought anyone else would do in the same situation."
The audience glared at the security guard.
Treat saw the boys in the back with disgusted looks on their faces. Treat smiled at them. Sam yelled, "He's a fraud. He planned this all."
Treat: "Young man that's enough. I didn't plan this. I don't have time for these crazy rants."
Sam: "If you didn't plan this, then who did?"
Treat: "Cotton Weary? No, but seriously young man if you would please remove yourself so I can continue my speech."
The group walked down the boardwalk disappointed. Treat had gotten away and made them look bad and himself look better. Sam was sure no one would ever believe that Treat was a vampire now. He realized the only way to stop him was to stake him and end his reign. Sam and Marty came up with a plan. He and Sam told the others the basic plot but left out one secret detail that they kept to themselves.
Back at his mansion Treat was taunting Adair Rowe, the reverend's brother. Adair was in human form and locked up in a cage so he couldn't escape. Adair did not like becoming the werewolf. He and his brother were cursed by some gypsies years ago. So he was not a werewolf by choice. That's why Treat had to get him angry so he could change into the werewolf and go after Sam, Marty, and the others and stop them before they could debunk Treat for what he really is.
Tavis saw the kids on the boardwalk with their stakes the next night. He knew they were out to get Treat. Tavis phoned Treat.
Tavis: "Treat, it looks like those meddling kids are at it again."
Treat: " 'Meddling kids?' We're not on "Scooby-Doo" Tavis. Look I'm sending Adair down there. If anything happens I'll come down there as well. Oh and Tavis watch yourself around the stakes I wouldn't want to have to promote Tanner to my new second in command."
Tavis: "Right."
Tavis and Tanner followed the kids on the dark beach. Marty had a bit of a struggle to drive his wheel chair on the sand but it wasn't too hard with the suped up engine. Tavis and Tanner jumped out in front of the boys. They smiled revealing their sharp fangs.
Laddie: "Hey you're that reporter Tanner."
Tanner: "That's right. See boys it pays to have friends in the media."
Marty: "I knew Treat was lying."
Tavis: "Well too bad you boys will never have a chance to tell anyone."
They all pulled out their stakes. Edgar ran towards Tavis with his stake in the air. Tavis flew up in the air and Edgar fell flat on his face.
Where's Buffy when you need her, Edgar thought. Alan caught Tavis when he came back down and staked him through the back. He disintegrated into dust. Tanner then advanced on them. Marty revved up the engine and came at him full speed. He staked Tanner in the heart.
The boys shouted with victory. But then Treat and Adair showed up. Adair was now in werewolf form and was growling angrily.
Treat: "You boys will pay for messing with me."
Adair jumped on Laddie and clawed his face. Michael grabbed Adiar and pulled him off Laddie. Star rushed over to Laddie.
Star: "Oh Laddie I'm sorry we weren't here. I should've stopped him." Laddie's face was covered in blood.
Laddie: "Just stop them Star. I'll be okay."
Then he fell out of consciousness. Marty held the gun and pointed it at Adair. He shot the silver bullet and hit the werewolf. The werewolf body lay lifeless on the sand. He began to change from werewolf into human. Then he died.
Treat couldn't believe these kids had killed this fierce beast. Treat looked down and saw that Sam was now lying on the floor. He didn't see why he was there or what happened.
The boy in the wheelchair yelled, "You hurt him. Now I'm gonna stop you."
Treat: "You? That's a laugh. I won't be stopped by a cripple."
Treat stood in front of Marty's wheel chair gloating.
Treat: "What are you going to do boy? You can't even reach me with your pathetic stake."
"Oh no," he said. Just then the boy jumped out of the wheelchair and onto Treat's chest. He stood up and held the stake over Treat's chest. He lifted the stake high in the air and was going to lunge it into Treat. But just then Treat kicked him off and flew off into the air.
Treat shouted, "You may have stopped me this time, but you're only delaying the inevitable."
Everyone was surprised to discover Sam and Marty had traded places in all the commotion. Sam was in Marty's "Silver Bullet" as to catch Treat off guard. Unfortunately Treat escaped.
The team of vampire slaying teens believed Santa Carla was safe again for a short time. At least until Treat decided to cause trouble again. Marty enjoyed the rest of the summer there with his identical cousin Sam and his new friends. They had a party at the beach to celebrate.
Marty: "So guys that was pretty cleaver what me and Sam did huh?"
Edgar: "Yeah pretty cleaver. Only I thought you guys didn't believe how much you look alike."
Sam: "Yeah but if you guys thought so we thought maybe Treat would be fooled as well."
Sam went down to the ocean. Then he saw the blonde girl again, walking alone. She looked at Sam and smiled. Sam pulled out the bracelet out of his pocket.
"Hey um I think you dropped this."
"Yeah. Thank you."
"My name is Sam."
"Hi Sam. I'm Timandra."
"That's an interesting name. So what did that guy want from you?"
"Well you see I just moved here with my aunt because me dad was murdered."
"Oh I'm sorry to hear that."
"Thank you. Anyway my aunt doesn't much like me. I needed money and I knew she wouldn't give it to me so I decided to steel it. And that's when the guy saw me and started chasing me trying to get it back."
"Well you sure showed him. It looked like you really did a number on that guy. Are you like in Karate or something?"
"I work out."
Sam, trying to act macho flexed his muscle and said, "Yeah I work out too."
Timandra flexed her larger muscle and Sam hung his head in shame.
"Well Timandra looks like you win. So are you going to be going to Santa Carla High?"
"Yeah, do you go there too."
"Yeah. I can help introduce you to people if you would like."
"I'd like that. Thank you Sam."
Sam thought to himself, It looks like things are finally starting to look up. A beautiful girl, dead werewolf, and a little bit less vampires, yeah this should be a good year.
Then back at his Mansion Treat was plotting his next move. With his position as Mayor Treat was very powerful. He said to himself, "Well those boys may have thwarted my first attempt, but there's always plan B. And that should be going in to effect right about now. Tobias, come here."
Tobias replied, "Yes Treat."
"You are my new right hand. Tavis and Tanner have been eliminated. I want you to keep an eye on Sam and his friends. And watch out for that Timandra girl."
"Why, who is she?"
"It does not concern you. Just watch them all."
"I will do as you bid master Treat."
As Tobias walked away he thought to himself, I wonder why this Timandra girl is so important to Treat. He has something up his sleeve, and I'm going to find out what it is.
