A Walk
in the Woods
by
Rich Roach
Come take a walk in the woods
with me,
We'll trot along from tree to tree,
Singing together merrily.
We'll look at the flowers still
in bloom,
Hiding in shadows where'er there's room
To sing an Autumnal song.
Perhaps we'll stand atop some
scarp,
And hear the wind that, like some harp,
Sings to the vale below.
Mark now the sun that slants
between
The swaying tops of fading green
And lights our path below.
How nice it was to be with you
And sing a sylvan song or two,
Together, you and I.
