Over the summer and fall of 2003, God worked many incredible miracles in the lives of 29 children from Kazakhstan and the families who fell in love with them. All 29 orphaned children received loving adoptive Christian families. Without God’s perfect provision, most of these children would have never known an earthly father or their Heavenly Father. This is a wonderful opportunity for us to show God’s love through our families.
Without the host families, monetary gifts, meals and housing provided for escorts, and all the prayers, this program would not have been a success. What took place in the summer of 2003 is a testimony of how He will bless those who reach out to His children.
After seeing the success of this program in 2003, we joined Gladney Center for Adoption in 2007 to participate in a host program entitled the Bright Futures Camp. Through the Bright Futures Program, we were able to bring 21 children from Addis, Ethiopia to Central Texas. Each child experienced a taste of what it is like to be loved by a family, to have his physical needs consistently met, and to hear about Jesus. By God’s grace, all 21 children, ages 6-15, are being adopted by their respective host families.
Next summer, we plan to participate in the Bright Futures Camp again. Once again, we will be bringing children from Ethiopia and trying to find them adoptive families. Africa has millions of orphaned children who are in desperate need of families. If you are interested in participating in the 2008 camp, please contact us right away. Profiles of adoptable children will start arriving in late 2007.
There are two kinds of host families. Some families are hosting with the intention of adoption. Others are hosting the children as advocates for them to find an adoptive family. Advocate host families are just as important as adoptive families. Without advocate host families, many of the 2003 Kazakhstan children would have never received a forever family.
Once again, we will have the challenge of raising funds for the children to come on the host program, as well as finding host families. Please pray that God will provide for all the needs to make this program successful.
