First Way is staffed fully by volunteers, and welcomes those who are interested in helping out! Because First Way is a completely volunteer organization, First Way does have some guidelines for those who are interested.
Volunteer Responsibilities:
* Volunteer will answer phones, make appointments and/or offer pregnancy tests, keep records, talk with distressed women offering 1st Way's assistance to help carry the baby to term
* Volunteer will maintain a strict confidentiality regarding all people who may use 1st Way services
* Volunteer will be in attendance at 1st Way office a minimum of 3 hours a week and at the staff meeting once a month
* Volunteer will recieve 30 hours of training one on one, as well as an inservice. This is designed to enable the volunteer to be of grater service to women
* Volunteer will keep the director informed as to the status of clients, pertinent information about the center, and will recieve feedback and guidance from the director
Qualifications:
* Volunteer must be firmly pro-life, never offering abortion
* Volunteer must be willing to assist any person who asks for help
* Volunteer must have the ability to communicate with others
* Volunteer must be committed to the principles of 1st Way Charter and Guidelines

First Way is always accepting donations of maternity and baby/toddler clothing, infant care items (diaper bags, cribs, infant carriers, etc.), diapers, and of course, any financial help you can give would be greatly appreciated.
