Curriculums
Toddler Program

The first step for youngsters two years of age is a
giant one. Usually this is the first
time away from a home environment and into a group
situation. We encourage
independence while handling the separation in a
positive, loving and reassuring manner.
Our program focuses on respect for one another and
ourselves. The children will learn
how to share, take turns and follow a routine. For
toddlers, learning is play and play is
learning. All activities are developmentally
appropriate and presented to stimulate the
senses through arts & crafts, music and cooking.
This program is based on what
children of this age need to know and their
interests while creating a happy
experience that will positively influence their
future attitudes towards school. Class
size is limited to 10 children with a teacher and
an assistant.
Cherub Program (3 year olds)

Since for many children of this age this is their
first experience away from home in a
structured environment, we concentrate on their
socialization skills in the beginning of
the school year. Learning to share, take turns and
participate in group activities are
all things we take for granted, but children must
be taught at this impressionable age.
We will also begin to explore the world around us
and the basic skills of color and
shape recognition, visual discrimination and
spatial concepts. By the second half of the
school year, we are ready to begin on some math
and reading readiness skills. These
skills are taught using various activities
including all mediums of arts &crafts, music,
cooking, stories and games. Learning is Fun! Class
size is limited to 14 children with the
teacher and an assistant.
Pre-Kindergarten (4 year olds)
This is truly a preparation class for children who
will enter kindergarten the following
September. In addition to the usual arts & crafts,
music, blocks and dramatic play, we
will concentrate on math and reading skills. The
curriculum will cover letter
and number recognition, writing skills and
beginning phonics. We explore the
communities we live in, science and different
cultures. Our teachers present it all in
an exciting and stimulating activities that
motivate every child. Class size is limited to
18 children with the teacher and an assistant.
Kindergarten
and Kindergarten Enrichment
Our
kindergarten program is an accredited program by the NYS department of
Education, and recognized by the East Islip School District and parents, as one
of excellence. With a low student : teacher ratio, we are able to devote
ourselves to the individual child's needs. The curriculum includes math and
reading readiness skills, language arts, creative writing, social studies,
science, music and art. We utilize the Houghton-Mifflin Math and Reading
Program, along with SRA Phonics to Meaning. All text books are included.
Computers are in the classrooms, and the children have gym and music twice a
week. Your child will be more than ready for 1st grade.
.
All Programs
All our classes enjoy music and gym at least once
a week with our specialty teachers.
Our music teacher visits each classroom every
Monday and Tuesday with her guitar
and rhythm instruments for sing-along, finger
plays and dance. On Wednesdays and
Thursdays, our gym teacher is here promoting gross
motor coordination in our indoor
gym with the use of parachutes, scooters,
beanbags, balls, etc. Of course, all our
children enjoy our beautifully shaded playground
every day the weather permits and
the indoor gym when it doesn’t.

Transportation is available
within the local communities – all
the Islips, Great River, Bay Shore and most of
Brentwood. It is included in the full service rate. Children are transported
in our modern fleet of mini buses that conform to
all the specifications of the N.Y.S.
Department of Transportation; and inspected by
them every 6 months. Our drivers
work for Chatterbox and are not subcontracted, so
we know each driver personally.
They are required to have a Commercial Drivers
License and their driving record is
Reviewed twice a year through the Department of
Motor Vehicles.
