Monument and the Surrounding Area Economics

Monument at one time was a booming town, with two saloons, a general store, two grocery stores, a livery stable, two hotels and a sawmill. But when the sawmill closed down the commerce in Monument changed. Many people here now have begun to operate small businesses from their homes, even though farming is still the main business. What Monument has to offer is quit amazing, which is very appealing for a small community of less then 150 people.
