Origin:Nightcrawler started as a circus preformer, then later ran off to become a munk, where people in the village thought of him as a demon. nightcrawler proved himself to the other priests, but went back to New York with the X-Men when Professor Xavier extended the invitation. After the X-Men were thought dead(Fall of the Mutants, Uncanny X-Men 224-227), and Kurt had come out of healing from near fatal injuries, He joined Excalibur along with Kitty Pryde(Shadowcat), Piotre Rasputin(Collossus) and several other mutants, mostly from the European side of the world. Then Excalibur disbanded after a while and Nightcrawler ended up back with the X-Men.
