Award Criteria

    Eligible sites must meet the following baseline criteria:

Aesthetically pleasing (25 pts max. score)

        - Artwork is well-chosen and lends a professional look to the site.
        - Fonts are chosen for readability and appropriate size.
        - Pleasing use of colors, textures, and graphic effects. 

Well-designed and easy to navigate (25 pts. max score)

        - No broken links within the candidate site.
        - Sitemap is provided, if the site comprises more than 20 pages.
        - Not excessively slow to load at 28.8 k, with a minimum of gimmicky effects.

Significantly promote the online study of the Roman army (50 pts. max score)

        - Content should be academically credible.
        - Narrative text is referenced to primary or secondary sources where appropriate.
        - Topic of the site is directly related to the history, art, or archaeology of the Roman army.
