Welcome!
My name is Jenna Leigh Jones and I am 13 years old. I am in the seventh grade at Scappoose Middle School in the beautiful state of Oregon. I am an A student, a student council member, site council member, a member of the school choir and I was on the varsity volleyball team.
Last year, I was on the Math Olympiad Team and was in the top three in my class for math. I was a reporter for the school newspaper, a safety patrol crossing guard, a student tutor, cafeteria worker, table captain and a school talent show participant. I led the school song for the "Back to School" Assembly and I was class runner on picture day. I also graduated from the D.A.R.E. program.
I won several awards at the school assembly in June. I was honored to receive the President's Education Award for Outstanding Academic Achievement, a Math Olympiad Certificate for being chosen to compete on the Math Olympiad Team, Academic Award for being on the honor roll all year, Mathmatics Award for Outstanding Ability, Award for Excellence in Spelling, Award for Excellence in Handwriting, Award for Outstanding Achievement for Newspaper Reporting, Award for Excellence in Music, Award for Drama, Award for Art, Safety Patrol Award, Award for Outstanding Achievement as Citizen of the Month, and I received a Certificate for Achievement for D.A.R.E. I was also honored at Outdoor School for writing the Best D.A.R.E. Essay.

I am active in other areas besides school. I am a member of the St. Helens Twirl Club and the United States Twirling Association. I am a gold member of the American National Honor Society.
Over the summer I participated in a penny drive for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. This was done through my mom's national pageant system, Miss Sweetheart USA. As a group we collected over a $1,000 in pennies.
I also emcee and perform for various events, most recently the 1999 Oregon and Washington Community Care Pageant. I was the 1998 grand supreme title holder. This pageant is more than a pageant. The contestants are asked to bring non-perishable food that is donated to the Oregon Food Bank. I believe that over 3,000 pounds of food was collected at this year's pageant, and there were only eleven contestants. Pretty wonderful!

As you can see from the photo at the top of the page, I was recently crowned Miss Oregon National Pre-Teen for 1999. The state pageant was held in Springfield, Oregon at the Double Tree Hotel over Labor Day weekend. I participated in all of the optional events and was honored to win all of them, but one. I won the talent competition by singing "Loverly" from the movie My Fair Lady. I also won Best Interview, Most Poise in Party Dress, Best Essay and Most Photogenic. The event I did not win was Sportswear Modeling. I traveled to the national competition in Orlando, Florida over Thanksgiving weekend where I placed 2nd runner up.

I have many interests including, singing, playing the piano, acting, modeling, dancing and twirling baton. I attended the 1999 American Amateur Modeling and Talent Competition in Las Vegas, Nevada. I was honored to win the 1999 Overall Model of the Year award. To win this competition I had to compete in five of seven modeling events and have the highest accumulated points at the conclusion. I competed in party dress, evening gown, interview attire, casual wear and photogenic.
Earlier in 1999 I traveled to Hilton Head, South Carolina to compete in the American Modeling and Talent Convention. This was a tough competition with hundreds of competitors. I felt very honored when it was announced that I was the Children's Theatrical Headshot winner. I also placed third in the Soap Opera competition and fifth in Swimsuit.
I think one of my favorite interests is twirling baton. This is my third year and I absolutely love it! At the Oregon State competition this year I took a first in Military March and our team took first place in the Junior Small Twirl Team Event. We twirled to "Cool" from the movie West Side Story.

I have many hobbies too. I enjoy playing volleyball, basketball, swimmimg, rollerblading, collecting beanie babies, collecting frogs, and no not real frogs, stuffed ones, and I enjoy reading and writing stories.

My current ambition is to be an actress and attend law school.

Well, that is about it for now. Please come back and visit me again. I am going to be adding picture pages of my pageant wins, pageant friends, etc.
If you have time please go and visit my friends and my moms pages. Melissa Sabin is my very best pageant friend from Oregon. We always have a good time when we get together. I just wish she lived closer. Heather Konitshek and I met in 1995 at the Miss National Pre-Teen Pageant. We were both there competing as princesses and we became very good friends. I am sure they would both love to have you visit. And please leave me a message on my new message board. It is monitored by my mom, so please don't leave inappropriate messages. They will only be deleted! :)
See you soon!
Sincerely,
Jenna Leigh Jones
