Chimera

This creature of Greek myth is the offspring of Echidna and Typhon. Her name, Chimera, is translated in to "she-goat." This because her body is made up of the head of a lion, the body of a goat and the tail of a serpant, and she breaths fire. Some myths say that she had three heads, but the popular myth says she only had one fire-spewing head. As most of these savage bazzarities, the Chimera was slain. This was done by Bellarphone who rode the winged horse Pegasus. A source of some controversy, some say the Chimera is the offspring of the Hydra and others say the Chimera was the mother of the Sphinx and the Nermean Lion by Orthus.
