Sumpter Family Tree

My Ancestor's

My name is Tracey Kirkham. This is my birth ancestry.

I was born "Julie Renee".

My mother's maiden name isJACQUELINE ROSE FOWLER.Mom has a different last name through marriage. Mom was born August 4, 1932 in Portland Oregon

My mom's mother's name was Patricia Willa Hippert. Grandma was born in Kalispell Montana March 17, 1913. (A Saint Patty's day baby)

Grandma lived in Oregon most of her life. She passed away in Portland Oregon, Multnomah County, in 1994. I'm glad she got to see me "carrying"(pregnant with) my son Josh. She was so excited about it! Grandma didn't get to see Josh, but I bet she's smiling at him right now from heaven.

This picture is of me, Grandma (maiden name-Hippert)Fowler and her daughter- (my mom)

Grandma's father was GEORGE AUGUSTUS HIPPERT

This is a wedding photo of Grandma Hippert's mom and dad: ORA BELL REED and GEORGE AUGUSTUS HIPPERT

Great Grandma and Grandpa were married October 14, 1908 in New Boston, Mercer County Illinois.

Great Grandma Ora's parents were: RELDAY F.SUMPTER and WILLIAM HENRY REED

Relday's parents were: JAMES E.A. SUMPTER and SARAH ELIZABETH LAWSON
Sarah went by 'Elizabeth' for her first name. This photo is of my G, G, Great Grandparents James and Elizabeth

James's father was: JOHN DAVID SUMPTER

My G, G, G, Great Grandfather John was born in Burke County North Carolina on January 11, 1811. He married twice (maybe 3 times) There is conflicting information on many of the internet sites I've been researching. He fathered between 22 and 26 children. (Not sure about exact number yet)

I descend from his first wife Rebecca Mullinex's lineage.

John left Rebecca and all his children from that marriage, to run off with (Mary Liford Lawson)Lawson was her maiden name. She had also married a gentleman with the last name of "Mills" too. I am not sure if that was before Liford or not. Mary was Sarah Elizabeth's Lawson's sister..so she was both a blood sister as well as a mother in law. After John left Rebecca for Mary, they ran off to have 12 to 14 children from that marriage!

Later in his life he moved to Arkansas where he was a Justice of the Peace in Newton County Arkansas.
